Control of Hospital Infections

January 2010 - December 2011

Completed project

Control of Hospital Infections

The risk of infection is a real, spread and universal worry, especially in developing countries.

The project Control of hospital infections in the Benedict Medical Center (Luzira, Uganda) had the aim to reduce the death rate connected with the transmission of endemic and epidemic infections both for the hosts and for the medical staff.

The intervention was realized thanks to the infectivologists and microbiologists of Policlinico Gemelli who worked in very close contact with doctors and local health operators.

The project benefits from the fund-raising of Università Cattolica 5 per mille.
