Inclusive education for disabled children

March 2009 - February 2010

Completed project

Inclusive education for disabled children in Palestine

Il progetto è stato finanziato da Rotary International - Distretto 2040, Rotary Club Milano Nord, Rotary Club Milano Sud, Rotary Club Nazareth.

The project aimed to supply to the teachers of Primary Schools and Pre-schools in Palestine some basic competences for the integration of children with disability in the school of all and for all children. The refresher course was addressed to the teachers who had already worked for the integration or who would start this experience to offer theoretic knowledge and practical tools to support the activities in class.

The project realized the principles which inspired the Convention of Rights for People with Disability, signed on March 30th 2007 by the representatives of 81 countries (today ratified by 194 Countries)  together with the motion that was adopted on May 2002 by the General Assembly of the United Nations in the Special Session about children.

The intervention, in cooperation with the Bethlehem University of Bethlehem, included the participation - as educators - of two professors of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and of a professor of the Bethlehem University, experts in the field of Special Pedagogy.

The project was supported by Rotary International - Distretto 2040, Rotary Club Nord Milano, Rotary Club Sud Milano, Rotary Club Nazareth.
