Completed project
Narration and memory for care and resilience
The project Narration and memory to promote processes of care and resilience for families hit by AIDS was born thanks to the coollaboration between Università Cattolica di Milano,UCM - Universidade Católica de Moçambique (Faculty of Medicine in Beira), Sinomlando Centre of KwaZulu-Natal University (South Africa) and the mission of Sisters of Jesus Good Shepherd. They have been working since 10 years to help the poorest and marginalized people, especially those who are hit by HIV/AIDS and who are socially isolated in Pemba (Mozambique).
The project uses the method of oral transmission to promote processes of resilience intended to the overcoming of traumatic events connected with a disease. At the same time, it wants to make aware the community in Alto Gingone (Pemba) and to welcome and support patients and their families.
The implementation of the project "Narration and memory to promote processes of care and resilience for families hit by AIDS" was made possible thanks to the fund-raising of Università Cattolica 5 per mille.
