Statute

The objective of the Centre is to promote and finalize both scientific activities and concrete solidarity initiatives, especially in support of emerging countries.

Art. 1, INSTITUTION

  1. The University Centre for International Solidarity (CeSI), hereinafter referred to as the center, was established at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, hereinafter referred to as Università Cattolica.
  2. The center carries out its activities at its headquarters in Milan and, for the exercise of its activities, avails itself of the facilities of Università Cattolica interested in the founding purposes of the center.
  3. The center shall last four academic years, renewable.
  4. The Rector represents the center in front of third parties.
     

Art. 2, FOUNDING PURPOSE

  1. The aim of the center is to promote and carry out both basic and applied scientific activities, in areas related to the culture and practice of international solidarity. Its goal is also to concrete solidarity initiatives, especially in the social and welfare field, in particular in support of emerging countries. This aim is pursued in the light of the Church's social doctrine. Research activities and initiatives may also be carried out with the collaboration of professors and researchers from other universities or public and private institutions and highly qualified professionals.
  2. In order to achieve the objectives referred to in the preceding paragraph, the Centre shall propose to:
    a) to promote collaboration agreements and conventions with Italian and non-Italian structures and to find funding for research programs and solidarity projects;
    b) to promote solidarity for the  emerging countries, through collaborative relationships with universities and health structures operating in them;
    c) to promote seminars, conferences, debates and meetings, including those of an international nature;
    d) to promote training activities aimed at preparing participants for solidarity programs;
    e) to promote the publication of the results of the research carried out.
