The language required as a prerequisite for each destination is indicated in the respective project sheets. To register for the language tests, it is necessary to complete the registration procedure and indicate the date of the test in the application form.

Language tests will be held online in the following dates:

Valid certificates table.

Please Note: for some destinations, preference will be given to those candidates with Portuguese knowledge (when specified in the project sheet). To demonstrate Portuguese knowledge candidates can send a Portuguese certification with all the other documents required.

The scholarships will be assigned after the selection procedure, divided in two steps:

STEP 1: ACADEMIC MERIT AND LANGUAGE KNOWLEDGE – the first selection step considers academic merit (weighted mark average, graduation grade) and language knowledge. Based on these criteria, a score will be assigned to each candidate, to determine their position in the ranking. The most deserving candidates will enter the second selection step.

Please Note: In the case of applicants who graduated within one year before the opening of the call for applications or students of a University Master's degree, PhD or Postgraduate School of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, only the degree mark and language knowledge will be taken into consideration for the ranking.

STEP 2: MOTIVATIONAL AND COGNITIVE INTERVIEW – the second step of the selection procedure consist of a motivational and cognitive interview with CeSI staff and considers the motivations, the attitude and previous experiences of the candidates. At the end of the interview, a score will be assigned to each candidate. This score, added to the score of the first selection step, determines the definitive ranking and the consequent assignment of the scholarships. The interviews will be held in person at the campus of Milan and Rome, or remotely via Microsoft Teams.

At the end of each phase of the procedure, all applicants will receive by e-mail information on the results.

The selected candidates must confirm their will to take part into the program within 3 days from the communication received by email.

Please note: Candidates who opt out of the motivational and informational interview will not be able to re-apply for future editions of the volunteering program, except in cases that are validly motivated and communicated with adequate notice to CeSI.

Please note: Candidates selected for the UCSC Charity Work Program Applicants who voluntarily renounce their departure following the purchase of a travel ticket will be required to refund their expenses.
